Construction & Project Management

End-to-end project delivery - engineering, construction management, subcontractor co-ordination and commissioning for turnkey red meat processing facilities, domestically and internationally.

One Contract. One Team. One Outcome.

Building a meat processing facility is one of the most technically demanding construction projects in the food industry. The building, the process equipment, the services and the regulatory compliance requirements all have to come together on a single site, on a programme that reflects real-world constraints - remote locations, limited local trade capacity, long-lead equipment, and a client who needs the facility operational by a specific date.

When construction management is fragmented - separate builders, separate equipment suppliers, separate services contractors, each managed independently - the gaps between those contracts become the client's problem. Programme conflicts, coordination disputes, warranty ambiguity and commissioning delays are the predictable result.

Meatlink Engineering takes on the whole project. We manage engineering, construction, procurement, subcontractor coordination and commissioning under a single contract. Our project managers have delivered facilities in regional and remote Australia and internationally - in locations where the margin for planning errors is zero and the cost of delays is measured in lost production weeks, not just additional construction costs.

We finish when the facility works - not when the last bolt is tightened. Commissioning is part of our scope, not an afterthought, and handover happens only when we've verified the facility performs to specification and your team is trained to operate it.

What's Involved

A disciplined project delivery sequence - from pre-construction planning through to formal facility handover.

  1. 01

    Project Planning & Programming

Developing a detailed construction programme, procurement schedule and subcontractor engagement plan before work commences on site. Time spent in pre-construction planning returns multiples in reduced on-site delays - we don't start building until we know exactly how it's going to be built.

  2. 02

    Engineering Coordination

Managing the interface between structural, process, building and services engineering during construction to prevent clashes and delays. On a live construction site, engineering coordination decisions happen daily - having our own engineers managing this interface means decisions are made correctly and quickly.

  3. 03

    Procurement

Sourcing and procuring all materials, equipment and subcontract services to schedule and specification. Procurement on a meat processing project includes long-lead items - refrigeration plant, processing equipment, structural steel - that need to be ordered well before they're needed on site.

  4. 04

    Site Supervision

Providing qualified site supervision throughout the construction phase to maintain programme, quality and safety. Our site supervisors understand meat processing facility construction - not just general construction - which means quality issues are caught and resolved against the right standard, not a generic one.

  5. 05

    Commissioning & Handover

Running the facility through a structured commissioning process and ensuring operational staff are trained before formal handover. Commissioning covers equipment testing, line balancing, process flow verification, food safety compliance checks and operational training - we produce a commissioning report that documents what was tested and the outcomes.

Why Single-Contract Delivery Works

One team accountable for the complete project - from first sod to first shift.

Single Point of Accountability

One contract, one team, one point of contact for the entire project. No gaps between design and construction responsibility, no disputes between contractors over who owns a problem - and no ambiguity about who is responsible for making the facility work.

Programme Discipline

Our project managers have delivered facilities in remote Australia and internationally - we understand what it takes to keep complex projects on schedule. Programme discipline starts in pre-construction and is maintained through daily site management, not retrospective reporting.

Commissioning Confidence

We don't consider a project finished when the last bolt is tightened. We commission fully before handover - so your facility works from day one. Our commissioning process is documented, systematic and signed off before we leave site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our construction and project management service.

Do you manage subcontractors directly, or do we need to engage them separately?

We manage all subcontractors directly as part of our construction management service. You have a single contract with Meatlink Engineering and we handle all trade engagement, scheduling and quality control.

Have you delivered projects in remote Australian locations?

Yes. We have delivered projects in regional and remote locations across Australia, and internationally in locations with limited local trade capacity. Remote logistics and accommodation for our installation teams are part of our standard project planning process.

What does commissioning involve?

Commissioning covers equipment testing, line balancing, process flow verification, food safety and hygiene compliance checks, and operational training for your processing staff. We produce a commissioning report that documents what was tested and the outcomes.
